Weekly Update 8th September
Well that’s the end of the merry go round called the Summer Transfer Window Graham. Will post the full in and out during the week.
But first my report of the Season, Crystal Palace.
Don’t know if you found somewhere to watch it Graham but here goes my first match review for you.
Typical Sunderland didn’t know what what to do at a set piece, more like a game of ping pong and its in the back of the net. Things settled down a bit. Until a cross came in from the right with Ji in a perfect position to head us level, but what did he do instead of putting his head on it he bloody moved out of the way of it. Couldn’t bloody believe it chocked on me pint, everyone in the club were swearing at the telly. Don't know what to say about the rest of the first half, played like a team who didn’t know each other and their was only three of the new recruits playing.
Second half and my hopes were lifted Ji off Fletcher on, beginning to play a bit more like a team, typical Fletch middle of the box to head in from a lovely cross from Colback one all. Only worry we are beginning to leave ourself open to the counter whilst pressing to get that winning goal. What happens palace counter, no worry John O'Shaw back to the rescue. But what does he do last man and he brings him down in the box. Penalty, Red Card no chance. Poor penalty Westwood dived over the ball, if we still had the Ming I thought he could have saved it. Its now two one and ten men, the way we were playing I thought we still had a chance until they scored the best goal of the game Jason Puncheon cut in from the left and laid the ball to their young sub O'Keefe who ran on to it and cracked it in. three one and time for another pint before I go home to your Auntie Carol.
